It’s no secret that we love yoga. As a practice, it helps us stay balanced and active, as a mantra it keeps us happy, focused and clear. Until now, the ancient practice has, for the most part, stayed true to its intent and maintained a low profile. Recently, yoga has become a hot topic — facing scrutiny from both media and yogis alike. While we value the practice, sometimes it feels good to let loose, challenge our beliefs and stop taking everything too seriously. Here are some of our favourite media pieces that have stirred the pot, threw us off balance and made us really stop and think.
how yoga can wreck your body – William J. Broad, New York Times
yoga instructors push back at new york time article on injury risk – Casey Schwartz, The Daily Beast
sh*t yogis say – by yours truly.
you call that tree pose? – Jessica Pressier, New York Magazine
annoying? yoga? surely not – Sarah Miller, The Guardian
What’s your preference? A serious, traditional and meditative practice or a light-hearted class with a little wiggle room?
