#nohumbug: mix an eggnog cocktail

Yep, that’s kale in our eggnog! (with coconut milk ice cubes as garnish)
If your super-drive willpower usually insists you resist (or, at least limit) seasonal rum and nogs, tell it to loosen up this year and make room for…kale?! Yep, you can put the green curly stuff in your nog. It’s all in the balance—the good and the bad. Add some rich Canadian maple syrup along with superfood coconut cream and BAM! Your body might even thank you.
SALTED MAPLE EGGNOG WITH KALE AND COCONUT CREAM
1 cup almond nog
1/4 cup coconut cream
4 tbs pure maple syrup (add more if you like it sweet)
3 oz spiced rum (add more if you like it stiff)
1 handful of kale (totally optional)
1 big pinch Himalayan salt
3-4 cups ice
pinch freshly grated nutmeg (garnish)
Throw everything but nutmeg together in a blender and puree until smooth.
For extra holiday cocktail fun…
Prep coconut milk ice cubes in advance so your frozen cocktails are extra creamy (and pretty). Garnish your glass with a blend of maple sugar, Himalayan salt and nutmeg. Make the kale version of the nog and serve it with mulled wine for a traditional holiday colour experience.
