oh canada – with love, from london
posted: July 1, 2013
Happy Canada day! As most Canadians proudly put on their red and white from coast to coast on July 1, eight hours earlier, London kicked off the celebrations in Trafalgar Square – home of the National Gallery, Canada House, and many events, including this year’s Canada Day celebration.
The lululemon crew in London took in the full experience, leading some yoga and showing off their true and patriot love.
Most of us can’t negotiate doing a headstand at the best of times, but yet, eight and a half months pregnant, our incredible teacher, Mercedes, was making it all look easy as she took on Canada Day, hanging out upside down with her pregnant belly protruding bountifully!
Our lululemon team came out in full force to celebrate Canada Day London, the second biggest celebration of being Canadian outside of Canada!
Following some intense hockey matches, we made our way onto “centre stage” and lay down our mats, ready and excited for the flow class waiting us. The sunshine made a guest appearance as we got ready for some vinyasa in front of crowds of people at the iconic Trafalgar Square.
As we moved through the class, we challenged ourselves, including a couple of gents who decided to participate in their first-ever yoga class, thinking it was going to be a walk in the park.
The atmosphere was buzzing and the crowd on a high. We had such a fun day celebrating the spirit of being Canadian (or honourary Canadians for the day as some of us Brits enjoyed!)
Congratulations to all of the hockey players who participated, the yogis, new and experienced who practised with us and finally, a huge thank you to the beautiful, uber pregnant Mercedes and her beautiful daughter, Rumi who graced us with their presence.
Happy Canada Day everyone! We already can’t wait for next year!
