Jacqui, Nikki and Georgia are three rad chicks. Their goal? To create healthy minds through healthy foods. Oh, and to make ridiculously good ice cream that’s dairy-, gluten- and refined sugar-free, therefore completely guilt-free as well.

Australia’s ecological footprint is 2.8 times the average global footprint, according to the WWF Living Planet Report 2012. and thus well beyond what the planet can regenerate annually. We need solutions. Solutions come from creative minds. Creative minds come from healthy brain tissue. Healthy tissue comes from good nutrition. This is our mission.

Together we are The Life Holistic, three friends helping to drive a global positive revolution one individual at a time.
We believe a holistic life is one in which you are living to your fullest potential. It is a life where you eat to be healthy so that you can think creatively, and act to solve real world problems.
We believe that eating seasonal, organic and local meat, fruit and vegetables in forms as close to how mother nature made them as possible helps us not only become healthier in ourselves, but reduces our ecological footprint, supporting our local economy and reducing our impact on the environment and the planet. Eating sustainably minimizes the resources used to store, package and transport produce and supports sustainable farming practices.
For three self-confessed sweet tooths, this recipe is a revolution in itself. It’s also a great way to minimize food waste by using up all your over-ripened bananas and mangos.
When they are starting to creep past their use-by date, peel them, cover them with an old plastic bag or—better yet—a Pyrex Tupperware container and place them in the freezer. The creamy texture and rich taste of this recipe will have your tastebuds fooled that it’s not store bought gelato. Best of all it contains no refined sugar, gluten or dairy so it’s completely guilt free.
Yep, this is all you’ll need to make killer chocolate “ice cream”
4.5 frozen bananas, chopped
2 frozen mangoes, chopped
8 large, soft Medjool dates, pitted
4 heaped tbs cacao powder
Peanut butter, softened (optional)
Put everything in a (powerful) food processor and blend until a smooth creamy paste, the texture of ice cream, is achieved. Finally, if desired swirl in desired amount of peanut butter. Enjoy immediately or store in freezer (will need a couple of minutes to soften straight out of the freezer).
